Born in Wells in 1900, Elizabeth Goudge lived there until 1911, including many years at The Rib. She became a bestselling author and the fictional Torminster was based on Wells and features in her books The City of Bells, Sister of the Angels and Henrietta’s House.

Pioneering translator Eleanor Hull had retired to Cannington Priory, #Somerset, by 1458. She received the last rites and died at the priory in 1460, probably in #December because her will was proved on 2nd Jan 1461.

Un parking. Cinq étages. Cinq personnages. Probablement vachement trop de chapitres, quelques litres d'eau d'amande et un rosier en fleurs.

Well, this is not what I expected to wake up to on 8th March! :p

In other news, it's #internationalWomensDay. I've been lucky to research sooo many amazing women for my books.

Take for instance Mama Chira, brave enough to negotiate with an emperor. She features in Inca-tastic Tales (link in bio).

Tell me about an awesome woman in a book you're reading or writing!

Tell me a female author you love!
