@lieberal you can always do the reverse WSL (run windows vm inside linux host) if you need the windows apps wine doesn't support. Not sure where I found it but there's even now containerizarion tooling to make that easier/seamless though I haven't personally tried it with #winapps or the potentially easier #winboat . If you try one of those let me know, its on my todo list to explore.

#affinity on #linux is a bit more tricky. I evaluated #winapps, but still need to run Windows in the background is also something I donโ€™t like although Iโ€™m impressed by winapps-org as a simple test environment. Currently Iโ€™m following the wine route with input from #AffinityOnLinux with some progress but still some render glitches - letโ€™s see if this end up in practical use
๐ŸŽ‰ Wow, who knew running Windows apps on Linux could be so... native-feeling? ๐Ÿ˜‚ Thanks to #WinApps, you can finally experience the *joy* of seamlessly integrating your favorite #bloatware into Ubuntu, because who wouldn't want a bit of Microsoft crashing their open-source party? ๐Ÿ–ฅ๏ธ๐ŸŽ‰

I installed #winapps to run M$ apps (like Office) on #Ubuntu 24.04. Everything looked fine but, when I tried to drag the mouse to select multiple cells or columns in #Excel, couldn't select more than 3 o 4 and suddenly is like I released the mouse button. Can anyone #help? This is very frustrating, because I'm so close to run mainly on #linux, without losing access to things like Word and Excel. Reclaim your Windows disk space. SpaceSniffer uses a treemap to visually show what's eating storage. Easily spot, filter, & delete large files. This free, portable app is a must-try. Run as admin for a full view. #DiskCleanUp #WinApps #FreeTool

It took me one day to make #Winapps work on my #NixOS #Linux machine, but now I am working on MS Office within my KDE and I like the appearance. Unlike when running MS Office from the #virtual machine, the image quality is good.
