loss32 is an operating system that combines Win32 apps with a Linux kernel (and other open source software)

Modern Linux distributions are powerful operating systems that can fully replace Windows or macOS for many users. But there are still some Windows-only applications that may not be available for Linux, and some folks may be more comfortable using an operating system that looks familiar.

Over the years we’ve seen plenty of projects that aim to let you run Windows software on Linux or other open […]

I've been cooking up Wine tests of Windows games and submitting the results to #WineHQ as of late. Also, I might actually get my patch for a 20-year-old bug accepted.

A friend of mine who is new to Linux, really wanted to get his windows program EAC (Exact Audio Copy) running on Linux Mint.

With a relative amount of ease I got him setup with Crossover, and installed EAC onto it. Runs perfectly, especially considering its a 32bit app. Finds the DVD drive, pulls in the album artwork & metadata, and rips cds.

I just enjoyed the challenge. :-)

I’m trying to search for toots relating to wine. You know, the Linux compatibility layer. It definitely isn’t found easily under just #wine, & trying combos of β€˜#wine AND #linux’ in search is a no.

So instead I spent an ungodly amount of time using every combination I could possibly think of that a single bloody hashtag might remotely contain.

#winehq #linuxonwine #WindowsOnLinux and #WindowsApplicationOnLinux are the winners, but #mondieu .

Just let us search for tag stacks
