I just found a new #vidder.
I use open source vidding software, so I often look around to see the newest bells and whistles on other people's #fanvideos and try to figure out how to copy them.
This was has two major features. Words that go behind the characters. This is some kind of masking. The next is the sparkly fingertips. Cool.
#10Dance videos are something I will probably boost for the Snowflake challenge, so happy to have found this.

I can recommend 2 alternatives: vidders.net is a privately run website that has been around for 10+ years. You create a free account and contact the administrator. It's whitelisted on #ArchiveOfOurOwn so you'll be able to embed your video and stream from there

The other alternative is the #InternetArchive. They too are whitelisted on #AO3 so you can embed and stream from there. Use the AO3 vid page as a central placeholder for all of your streaming sources

I would suggest you use both alternatives to maximize your streams

The final location is called CriticalCommons.org. You have to apply for an account, explaining your purpose, and when you upload your video write a short paragraph explaining it transformative nature. It's a site devoted to analyzing and discussing media culture

As a #vidder I used to have youtube block my videos all of the time. I found that I could get around some of the blocking with a vimeo account, but no more.

Two of my videos disappeared from Vimeo this week. Probably due to copyright issues, but I didn't get an email or anything. Just a link to a page that says SORRY THIS VIDEO DOES NOT EXIST.

Do you know how demoralizing that is? To feel that another Purge is on its way.

Copyright law seems to exist to destroy #transformativeworks

For a #vidder , there is a moment in every fanvid when you think it's not going to work. I have reached that moment. Things are too light in parts and too dark in others. I can't figure it out, and the song choice is ....I don't think anyone but me will like it.

That's when I remind myself. I'm the only one who has to like it, and I push through.
