I find that I remember videos better when they chose a unique song that I haven't heard in another #fanvid
Obsessive romances are a common source of story / romance vids because they have many dramatic scenes and thus don't need too much explanation.
The B couple from Pursuit of Jade involved a romance with a crazy guy which made many interesting scenes. They linked them together with color grading.

The female lead picks up an Imperial inspector who lost his memory, and although he gets it back and leaves her at the altar, and she gets engaged to two other men, she only ever sleeps with this one guy. I tried to look up songs about cuccolds, but I do not recommend it.
