Also, love taking HTV cards of parties I don’t like without prejudice or fear, so I can confidently reverse preference ‘below the line’.

Maude Nificentevery democratic system in the west has its limits, but by gum we have it good in Australia when it comes to voting;
an independent electoral commission; no out of control gerrymanders;
audited management of ballot papers;
access to polling at reasonable hours, in reasonable locations, and with reasonable alternatives;
get to laugh with people representing a variety of parties, with no fear of being shot
