I want to share this Facebook memory with you. I have no idea what this was about. #vaguebook is fascinating sometimes. But I want to use it as an excuse to remind you of 2 things.

1. Whatever is happening probably isn't as bad as you have decided it is. In a few years you won't even remember it happened. Your perspective matters. Pay attention to what's truly important.

2. In 2011 I was in a lot of pain for a lot of reasons. The struggle was very definitely real. While I don't remember this specific day or problem, there were many, many days like this and they come up in my Facebook memories all the time.

I don't live this way anymore. I don't react like this anymore. I don't post like this anymore. The amount of change I've created for myself within my own life since 2011 seems quite surreal when I see old posts like this.

This is your reminder to remember how far you've come. When you look back on your memories and you see things that are reminders of the person you were, give yourself a big old pat on the back. You did it! You got there! You made it through the struggle.

Celebrate that. You deserve it.
