I do still have a fascination with grimdark settings with the caveat that there has to be some sliver of hope or small bright corner, which could, at least in theory, be a starting point for things getting better. A light in the darkness.

I'm working on an Iron Age setting for a roleplaying adventure in sort of mythical Great Britain, and I am having a blast. It's really fun to shed the pseudo-medieval trappings I'm used to for D&D and get into something a little different.
