Reflections on EGU25

Well that’s a wrap on the European Geosciences Union 2025 (EGU25), the largest meeting for scientists (~21,000) in this domain held annually in Vienna, Austria, Europe. I love attending this event, and here are my thoughts from this year.

Our train was an hour late into Brussels and so we missed our connection. However we’re now on a Eurostar (ex-Thalys) service to Köln - we’re on the train but have no seats. Joys of rail travel. #train2egu

We are being held up by a technical problem in the Channel Tunnel - probably an hour’s delay. Fortunately I spotted that there is EMERGENCY CHOCOLATE in the cafe car! #train2egu #emergencychocolate

We’re on the #train2egu heading to the @EuroGeosciences conference in Vienna. Today is Cardiff - London - Brussels - Köln and we’re meeting a former colleague there for dinner. Currently on a Eurostar zipping across Kent.
