Gebaut 1906 durch die Firma Escher Wyss in Zürich, ist das Dampfschiff Blümlisalp heute der Stolz der BLS Schifffahrt auf dem Thunersee. Auch nach über 100 Jahren ist das Schiff noch täglich im Einsatz. Dies ist jedoch nur dank ein paar Verrückter Fans möglich. 1971 wurde das Schiff ausser Betrieb genommen und in einem Seitenarm des Thunersees abgestellt. Fast 20 Jahre lag es dort, bevor es gerettet und während zwei Jahren komplett renoviert wurde. Am 22. Mai 1992 gelang die zweite Jungfernfahrt.
Am Morgen des 16. Mai 2026 wartet das Schiff in der Morgensonne auf seinen Einsatz am Mittag und auf die bis zu 750 Gäste.
Built in 1906 by Escher Wyss in Zurich, the steamship Blümlisalp is now the pride of BLS Navigation on Lake Thun. Even after more than 100 years, the ship is still in daily service. However, this is only possible thanks to a few passionate enthusiasts. In 1971, the ship was taken out of service and left in a side arm of Lake Thun. It lay there for almost 20 years before being rescued and completely renovated over a period of two years. On 22 May 1992, it successfully completed its second maiden voyage.
On the morning of 16 May 2026, the ship waits in the morning sun for its midday service and for up to 750 guests.
