A young grey heron spotted yesterday at Endcliffe Park, Sheffield, UK.
There are several dams (lakes) in the Porter Valley which all once provided the water for water wheels. This particular one is usually swarming with mallard and mandarin ducks but at this time of year they are all away nesting, giving our heron a bit of peace.
