Imagine: every person on Earth permanently goes on strike refusing to write any software not under a #copyleft license so all new software provides complete, Corresponding Source (#CCS) to consumers & users.
While unbridled capitalism makes universal #boycott unlikely, it's a matter of degree: one developer's strike *makes a linear difference*. I urge you to do it.
One of my tools of #activism to extensive use of thought experiments¹. Most are mere curiosities, but some I adapt into central strategies of #FOSS activism. I'm starting this long-standing thread to record my thought experiments. I warn you most will just be “potato chip” level ideas that are enjoyable as far as they go, but immediately forgettable. Every so often, one of them is truly fascinating and has power to guide important work.
