I would never stop laughing if my painting of Theseus was displayed near a classic depiction of Ariadne.

Did you see my Sleeping Theseus painting yet?
In Greek mythology, Hippolyta was the queen of the Amazons and a superstrong demigoddess (daughter of Ares, the god of war). As one of Heracles' 12 Labours, he defeated Hippolyta and stole her magic belt. In some versions of the myth, Hippolyta later married the hero Theseus.

As part of my series of dudes in man caves, I created this oil on canvas painting titled Sleeping Theseus. After providing a little bit of context about Theseus and the Minotaur, along with speaking about Ariadne, I describe my artwork in detail. (If you want to add this painting to your collection, you’ll need to visit the William Havu Gallery in Denver, CO.)

Ship of Theseus adjacent:
A Brown recluse spider dies in childbirth releasing dozens if not hundreds of babies.
They are cannibalistic, and if given no outside food sources may eat each other to reach adulthood. They try to eat each other as they mate.
If only one spider survived to motherhood each generation, what likely percentage of it is the same spider as its mother?
