'Valentine is a full-time muralist who also paints commissioned works. His pieces have been popping up all over town since 2019, when he painted murals featuring rappers Soulja Boy and Nipsey Hussle.
He's the artist behind the Victor Wembanyama mural that got the attention of Gregg Popovich, but his viral moments don't stop there. Valentine has also painted murals depicting Santa Claus drinking a Big Red, a Hispanic Elvis, a larger-than-life Valentine's Day Stanley and one that combined the "Edgar" haircut with Kendrick Lamar lyrics.' https://www.mysanantonio.com/entertainment/article/serape-garden-art-ingram-mall-colton-valentine-20381795.php

'I've been working on a project where my focus/mission is to do a street art installation in every zip code in San Antonio. What I've been doing is creating these large flower pieces that are apart of a series I started back in 2016 called "Wabi Sabi" inspired by the Japanese philosophy. I like to say the flowers are symbols of who we are, because just like the flower we are not anatomically correct, we all have our imperfection or insecurities but just like the flower we are all unique, bold and beautiful. I create my street art pieces on cardboard and I use velcro to attach them to building so I don't cause damage to the places I install my work at. I primarily focus on installing my work on abandoned or closed down businesses but sometimes I take the liberties to put them in other types of places. I wanted to see what you all think of street art around the city and if you know any specific areas that I might be able to check out to possibly install some art on to help me on my mission of reaching every zip code in the city.' https://www.reddit.com/r/sanantonio/comments/1h6yoac/street_art_in_san_antonio/

By San Antonio artist Kathy Sosa @huipilista at 207 Broadway, San Antonio, Texas. Photos taken March 2025.

'Kathy Sosa has been creating artworks for a few years that riff on the British government’s morale-boosting World War II encouragement to “Keep calm and carry on,” often putting a Spanglish spin on the phrase: “Keep calm y taco on,” “Keep calm y Fiesta on.” The latest installment in Sosa’s “Keep Calm y Dream On” series — a mural on the side of La Boulangerie, a bakery downtown — has a French twist. It features five rectangles, each reading “Keep Calm et Macaron,” painted in the pastel shades of the delicate French cookies. The mural was inspired partly by the fact that Sosa, 66, loves the food at La Boulangerie and had struck up a friendship with Sylvain and Sylvie Nykiel, the French couple who own it. Sosa suggested the mural as a way to draw attention to the business and to underscore the fact that it, too, represents a cultural blend, with the couple bringing French cuisine to San Antonio.'

'The mural features two hands holding a Spurs prayer candle with a Spurs jersey, championship ring at the bottom, and “Por Vida” in classic script at the top. A golden basketball shines brightly at top of the center jersey, with hands, cacti and the City of San Antonio’s logo inside. Red roses, a blue sky with clouds, and the year “1973,” adorn the candle, symbolizing the year the Chaparrals relocated to San Antonio and were renamed the San Antonio Spurs.'
