"Vhil's mural was inspired by the story of Aberdonians who fought in the Spanish fascist regime in the 1930's. Vhil was fascinated by this story and delved deep in the history of these 19 men, 5 of which sadly died. The mural depicts two soldiers, American brigadier Peter Fyre on the right and John Londragan of Aberdeen. The story of these brave men and their bond with the Spanish is remarkable. This mural is helping to bring this story to life on the streets of Aberdeen to a new generation. Creating the mural required a lot of physical labour, craving by drilling into the wall to produce lots of detail." https://www.aberdeeninspired.com/murals/vhils-2019

"For Hama Wood's mural she created a leopard, the symbol of Aberdeen and added some cheeky rats and pulleys.

'Quincy Delight Jones Jr. (March 14, 1933 – November 3, 2024) was an American record producer, composer, arranger, conductor, trumpeter, and bandleader. During his seven-decade career, he received dozens of accolades, including 28 Grammy Awards, a Primetime Emmy Award, and a Tony Award as well as nominations for seven Academy Awards and four Golden Globe Awards.

Jones came to prominence in the 1950s as a jazz arranger and conductor before producing pop hit records for Lesley Gore in the early 1960s (including "It's My Party") and serving as an arranger and conductor for several collaborations between Frank Sinatra and the jazz artist Count Basie. Jones produced three of the most successful albums by Michael Jackson: Off the Wall (1979), Thriller (1982), and Bad (1987). In 1985, Jones produced and conducted the charity song "We Are the World", which raised funds for victims of famine in Ethiopia.'

"Located on the bluff in Paihia, just before Te Ti Bay, the beach location required some serious logistics! I painted for 6 days straight, from sunrise to sunset, moving the lift off the beach at every high tide. On completion of the mural, local Iwi hosted a sunrise blessing with a great turn out from the community."
