Rice and #Technobabble go well together it seems

A team of researchers at the Ming Hsieh Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering has created a new breakthrough in photonics: the design of the first optical device that follows the emerging framework of optical thermodynamics.
The more I think about it, the more I'm convinced that #StarTrek has those Vulcans (or Data) to convince you not to look into the logic of plot/people.
"There's a Vulcan around, if they can't find a fault in that logic, neither will I!"
Hard #SciFi doesn't need cheap tricks like that, because there's (hopefully) no gaping flaws?
"Western in Space"-Starwars doesn't need it, because nobody expects any logic. (not even from droids)
And even grimderp WH40K doesn't need such things, because why would there be logical plot if there's literal multiple chaos dieties around? (still better plot/science than Star Trek - because the rules lawyers couldn't stand really bad flaws)
Only Star Trek likes to look like it's science based, when in reality it's rather "rule of cool"-based and only "teching the tech". There's no need for Science if you can substitute with #technobabble. There's no need for complex plot, if you can just have superhuman main characters win fist fights against people "five times as strong as a human" all the time.
Time travel? We do it permanently! It's not like that one crushed car would change the future in any way!
Who does Science? There's some shady science org that does build a groundbreaking new fusion plant in the same building it's holding their (currently child aged) genetic engineered super humans! (who will take over mankind soon)

(Re: ai, insulin pump/cgm, etc contd)
But this is like any tool, right?
We have the responsibility to anticipate potential negative impacts and prioritize strategies to avoid them. (Especially the "we" that has the societal "power")
*#diabetes #technobabble contd
🤹♀️:
-re death, see "dead in bed," "severe lows", etc
-also, at least 2 common scenarios where the ai's "failsafes" fail.
If anyone's curious pls LMK cuz this is enough infodump here! 😁🙄😉

Saying one thing while feeling another is part of being human, but bottling up emotions can have serious psychological consequences, such as anxiety or panic attacks. To help health care providers tell the difference, a team led by scientists at Penn State has created a stretchable, rechargeable sticker that can detect real emotions—by measuring things like skin temperature and heart rate—even when users put on a brave face.
