I already switched to #BasicSync, very satisfied with it, even contributed to the translations.

It would appear that @Catfriend1 has deleted their account and then started anew. Much as that isn’t an action I’d have recommended under the circumstances for the purposes of building trust, it does seem somewhat in-character. For what it’s worth, from what I can glean as an admin, both the old and new account had 2FA enabled and come from the same region of the world. 🤷 Oh the drama. Updating #Syncthing from 1.3 to 2.0, including database conversion, was a breeze. Hard to believe I put it off for... half a year, expecting problems. Please #Syncthing-Fork Android, no more inotify issues. 🙏

here is how to pause updates of Syncthing-Fork from F-Droid until the situation becomes clearer

based on code reviews done by people in the Syncthing forum, any version up to the one currently available on F-Droid is probably fine. however, nobody really knows the person in control of the repo, so you probably want to disable updates for now.

to do that:

1. open the Syncthing-Fork listing in F-Droid

2. open the menu in the upper right

3. make sure "ignore all updates" is checked

posting this separately because the thread I started about it yesterday is becoming a hellthread
