@thatdnaguy no, bookwyrm is decentralized substitute for goodreads as far as I figured.
#Calibre works like charm for me, but I use local installation and synchronize books with my e-reader. What I miss is some online book community to get book recommendations.

Bonjour Mastodon, j'ai une question sur la #lecture en mode numérique (#epub surtout et #PDF).

Ça m'enchante de transporter 500 livres sur mon téléphone. J'utilise "Boox" (appli trouvée comme-ci comme-ça). Sur l'ordinateur, l'appli "Livres" du MacBook.

Mais les notes que je prends ici ne se répercutent pas là. Et j'ai un besoin de classement, aussi.

J'ai cru que #Calibre serait une réponse; le classement par métadonnées perso n'est pas mal sur l'ordi, mais le mode d'emploi du "serveur de contenus" m'a complètement découragée.

En plus je vois des AI partout dans les paramètres: je n'en veux pas.

J'en appelle à vos idées! Merci!

So for my use case, I just don't see the point of #KOReader. I bought the kobo color because I wanted to ditch my Amazon Paper White. But I can use #Calibre to load ebooks directly onto the kobo. It's a much more polished experience compared to KOReader.
