Thank you. It is odd finding yourself alone after raising family. My husband, George X. Hale, & I celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary one month before he died. Our daughter, Alice, died four years earlier, a week before her 30th birthday, of #SUDEP - Sudden Unexpected Death in EPilepsy.
Because Alice's neurologist had warned us of the possibility of #SUDEP, Alice had asked us to donate her organs if she died before we did. She was able to save three lives. Two people each got a kidney & one person got her liver. Two more people regained their eyesight with her corneas.
Since 2015, the 10 days from April 20 through May 1 each year have been the most difficult days for me. I found Alice sitting on the bathroom floor at about 4:00 AM on the 20th. She had succumbed to #SUDEP - Sudden Unexpected Death in EPilepsy. May 1 would have been her 30th Birthday.

#SUDEP - Sudden Unexpected Death in EPilepsy. Alice Katharine Hale died of SUDEP 10 days before her 30th birthday. We were lucky, though, because she went into a deep, long coma at two-years-old & we were told she would probably die. She woke up & we were blessed with 26 more years with her.❤️💜🏳️‍🌈💫
I wish I had known when my dear daughter Alice died on April 20, 2015, that scientists investigating #SUDEP - Sudden Unexpected Death in EPilepsy - were requesting 🧠 donations from SUDEP victims to help them learn more about SUDEP. By the time I learned, it was too late.

💔 #SUDEP - Sudden Unexpected Death in EPilepsy - stole our daughter #AliceHale, from us 11 years ago today, April 20. Alice and her brother, Morgan, were the greatest gifts in our lives! Alice, you left too soon. 💙💜❤️

#epilepsy #seizures it's been almost 20 years since I was diagnosed with epilepsy. Have you ever had a seizure? I have almost died before- tangled up in a curtain, etc- but outside of #sudep, I have heard one cannot die from a seizure...

#Epileptics are you out there? Hugs.

Outrageous! Neurologists offer vital healthcare. I say this as the grieving mother of a young woman who succumbed to #SUDEP - Sudden Unexpected Death in EPilepsy - 10 years ago. Thanks to her neurologist, Alice (daughter), her father & I knew her #epilepsy put her at risk of early death.
