I'm never going back to regular UI.

Experimenting browsing pixelfed in "contact sheet" mode

For those curious : https://paste.lol/antoine/pixelfed.social.css
(I use it with stylebot)

#pixelfed #custom #ui_ux #stylebot #css #gridlanes #anchor

pixelfed.social.css

/** * Pixelfed custom UI/UX - "Contact Sheet" mode * Inject this CSS on pixelfed main page and experience contact sheet, distraction less, pixelfed photos browsing. * Personnaly using Stylebot for CSS injection */ html:has(.timeline-status-component) { --min-photo-inline-size: 400px; nav.navbar, .card:not(:hover) .card-header, .card:not(:hover) > :not(.timeline-status-component-content), .read-more-component, .sidebar-attribution, .sidebar-component .card, ...

I also do this with the #Stylebot (https://tinyurl.com/24b7jtmr) chrome extension in order to modify most of the websites I frequent to change font size, letter-spacing, line-height, table cell padding and much more. It makes using sites more enjoyable by far and less triggering (to me). As well as, to an extent, standardizing the layouts and experience across the internet. How positively APPLE of me!

First pic is #Statuzer in browser without my Stylebot CSS applied. Second is with.

i hate coding instagram's site skin it has so many individual parts and all of them have such long names 😭

This is very cool. Similar to #Greasemonkey and #Tampermonkey. Allows you to insert custom #javascript #scriptlets to modify webpages. I do that already with #Stylebot, but that's #CSS only. Yet another reason to use #Brave - I hope #Vivaldi follows suit! #bravebrowser

Brave now lets you inject custom JavaScript to tweak websites

Brave Browser is getting a new feature called 'custom scriptlets' that lets advanced users inject their own JavaScript into websites, allowing deep customization and control over their browsing experience.

So annoying when #Jira goes from giving the exact date and time to a general number of days ago.

One way around it is to use #StyleBot to apply custom styles to a site, and use the attr() function to place the contents of an attribute after the vague value.

For example:

.timestamp::after {
content: " | " attr(title)
}

Can't figure out any way to turn off the annoying #AIOverview at the top of #Google search results, so I guess that is one more line to add to my #stylebot rules for the site.
@statuzer Almost forgot. I was going to show you how I used #Stylebot to modify the font, padding etc of the default #Statuzer interface in browser so that it looks, I guess, more visually appealing to me. If you do go ahead with creating an Electron app, please do include additional features to modify font family, line-height and other aspects of the app.

had to take an actual photo of my laptop's screen because i can't get a screenshot of it with the Mastodon deck search field tab exposed.

am kinda frustrated with the #accessibility issues i've had with the platform. no matter what i tried, i could not properly perform a search... because i couldn't register correctly what i was seeing in that exposed tab.

where it not for the #Stylebot #Firefox extension, i would have ditched Mastodon a long time ago.
