@statuzer sorry, another enquiry.
in both Masto itself, & Phanpy, but also in non-Masto platforms like Sharkey & Friendica, when posts contain a linked article, it is previewed with a thumbnail; this is very helpful in rapidly deciding if it is of sufficient interest to click thru & open it in a new tab.
unfortunately in #Statuzer, most of the time, there is no initial preview thumbnail, merely the raw url, per the first pic.
if i then click the post [not its linked url, but the post itself] to display it in the overlay, then it fetches & displays the desired preview. after closing the overlay, the original post in its timeline now does also show the preview, per second pic.
not meaning to be rude, but i dislike this behaviour, as it adds some "friction" to using Statuzer, compared to all the other Fedi clients / platforms i mentioned. is it possible pls to fix this, so all posts in timelines already have fetched their link previews, without me having to manually do it post by post?
ta.
aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand so, here be me, back yet again almost* at the beginning, the wheel not so much having turned full circle perhaps as derailed from the track & buggered orf into the scrub & mulga, startling the emus & irritating the yowies. 🙄🤦♀️
* Masto again, yes, but not the actual Masto web UI itself, given it's just too painful & a bit ugh, but instead, one of the #FOSS front-ends for it, being #Phanpy, notwithstanding its UI still has all the stuff that historically kept making me drop it. sadly, i'm here not so much out of explicit favour for it, but simply as an exhausted fallback position coz all these months & years have shown me that all the alternatives are on balance worse [& just for fun, each specialising in different aspects of "wrongness"].
Phanpy [for Masto] still irritates me for its
#Statuzer [for Masto] had my heart for many months over recent years, at the times i would try Masto again, but today when i tried it again i could not see any way to create any dedicated timelines for nominated hashtags
#Sharkey is aesthetically gorgeous, has a great array of settings options, a really clever flexible UI, brilliant hashtag timelines capability... but
#Friendica is a complex love-hate story; over the past 3.5 years i've tried many F instances, with my original sense of overwhelm gradually subsiding into understanding & enjoyment. i really do like it, but recently left my active instances yet again, coz:
i don't for a minute expect this to be the end of the story, given my history... 🥺

Are you a friend of Blåhaj? blahaj.zone is open for registrations for queer folk and their allies. We're a small instance, running on #Sharkey (a fork of #Misskey). If you're trans, gender diverse, or just really like plushy sharks, come and join us! We are accepting new members, but remember Blåhaj is a friend and ally to all LGBTQ+ folk!

Statuzer is a multi-accounts, multi-columns Mastodon client.
@statuzer Hi there. I am experimenting with #statuzer and liking it so far. Thank you for creating it.
The one thing I cannot figure out for the life of me is how to make the red dot on the notification icon go away. I've tried scrolling up and down the column, clicking the checkbox. What is the trick to this?
@statuzer You totally need to get #Statuzer on github and into electron format I reckon. More and more I'm starting to use it over #MonaApp.
Not sure which languages you're proficient in but if you make a native app I'd seriously consider paying for it. Just freaking outstanding work, use it every day.
Masto-bators! Your semi-regular reminder that @statuzer is an absolutely PHENOMENAL browser-based Mastodon interface. I have it open in a pinned tab at all times. Once #MonaApp goes full evernote, even for their users that paid for the full version "in perpetuity", I'll likely switch permanently to using #Statuzer. No shitbox Liquid Glass interface, just a solid, great multi-column experience.
