Seizing the amorphous inter-christmas days to take a first try at #strandedcolourwork #knitting. Turning mam's scrap bag of #wool into a scrunchie

Heightened sensitivity to texture is so frustrating as a knitter.

I love #StrandedColourwork - the process & the product. I can just about cope with getting cringey using the ‘tacky’/‘sticky’ yarns that work best for it. But the thought of having the inside of stranded work against my skin makes me dry heave. Consequently my stranded work is limited to either stuff that will go over other clothes or stuff for other people (and few people are *that* knit worthy!) #knitting #SensorySensitivity

So proud of completing this waistcoat, which took me months. Only it’s too small! After much grumbling I have begun to extend the front band to try and give me some extra width. Any tips for knitting an effective colourwork swatch would be much appreciated. Pattern is Peigi by the wonderful Alice Starmore. #knitting #knittingfails #strandedcolourwork #SundayAfternoons
