Do your characters have a background story, before you start writing, or do you make it up "on the go"?
I wonder if any scifi stories talked about how AI prisoners of wars are handled. I imagine there would be a Geneva convention RevX to deal with it. E.g. Sentient AIs can be interrogated but not opened up and internally inspected or something...
