I am 100% someone who just writes without planning. Sometimes I want to get to a specific scene I had in mind, sometimes I just have two characters that I throw in a situation, sometimes it's just a vibe.
Lot's of fun, but the downside is that it is really hard for me to finish anything XD

I can't plan honestly, I tried recently again writing down just a few ideas for chapters..
My wiring motivation for that went missing directly after that.
It's like, I kind of don't see the point of writing, when I already know what will happen. Sometimes, I have a scene in my head that I need to write down, but that's all…so I can relate to it being tricky to finish things XD

Honestly, I ever so often feel like I am "doing it wrong" even after all the years I've been writing for already, but I can't help that planning a story just isn't for me at all.
It's good to know there are others who actually understand, how planning a story can ruin it before you even start writing.
Sometimes, I feel like being kind of an alien, if I tell people about me not actually knowing where a story will go, before I get there when writing …. XD

Oh don't worry, there are a lot of us out there. NaNoWriMo had a whole category for us called 'Pantser'. There were a lot of discussions in their forums about preferences for planning. And it's honestly a whole spectrum. Some like to plan a bit, some like to plan a lot, some can't write before they have a complete outline, some can't write when they have an outline. It's like everything in life :) If you can imagine it, it exists. And a hobby should always first and foremost be fun. So let's write in a way that's fun for us^^

Oh that's cool, I've never taken part in NANoWriMo
But yes, hobbies should be fun and a retreat from all that's not great about daily life
