"Heavens, our lives weren't really in danger but it was scary. It's all we'll talk about next week...because it centres us and we're fabulous" - White House Correspondents

“A reporter who publishes only what the government ‘authorizes’ is doing something other than reporting,” she said.

The #NationalPressClub condemned the decision in a statement."

So

#Trump and #Hegseth don't want #Reporters in the #Pentagon

Trump and Hegseth want #Stenographers

@davidonformosa
Lemme fix that headline…
*Beijing's 🇨🇳 #stenographers: "oF cOuRsE iT's TaiWaN's FaULt!!!!11!!!!!"
@GottaLaff @emptywheel. On the topic of the #media as #stenographers. Listening to #NPR story about #Michigan & the #autoworkers strike just now was maddening. Simple ventroliquizing of #Trump's utterly absurd position that he is a protector of #workers' rights. We have a record of 4 years in the White House and a record of non-payment for labor for decades before that. How about dig into (and you don't need to dig deep) his record and compare it with the words spoken? They are false/fraudulent.

Example number… let’s just say, kazillion or so (I’ve stopped counting). This is what I’m talking about:

“New York Times chief White House correspondent Peter Baker defended Welker’s decision to interview the former president — arguing that it’s necessary for journalists to challenge political leaders.”

As if he or they “challenge” Trump. #Stenographers #PRDepartment #MediaFail

Grateful for @emptywheel for calling out the press for failing to report that the GOP's pushing to impeach #Biden *because* they've never had a shred evidence that he did anything wrong. Several Repubs have said as much, and yet Marcy seems like the only one making this obvious and central point.

Irving Oil posts a poorly veiled threat about having to restructure due to the energy transition and CBC reprints it wholesale.

Irving Oil is privately held. The only reason they posted this press release is because they want concessions. If they were serious about restructuring, they would restructure without telling anyone.

And CBC dutifully tells us Irving has 4000 employees, etc.
