Mal wieder mit Robin eine Minecraft-Diskussion gehabt.
Er ist ja vernarrt in das Lego-Spielen am Rechner. Und er hört nicht auf, mir vorzuschwärmen, wie toll die Grafik sei, vor allem der RT-Mode.
Aber ganz ehrlich? So wie Minecraft heute aussieht, sah Wolfenstein in den 90ern aus. Und noch schlimmer, dass Benutzerinterface sieht noch gammliger aus, als meine erste Schritte in Visual Basic 2.0.
Aber ich kann auch die Retro-Verrücktheit vieler nicht nachvollziehen.
"Aber damals gab es noch Spielideen!"
"Na und? Was nützt mir die beste Spielidee, wenn man damit an heutigen Bildschirmen Augentripper bekommt?"
"Aber das war so cooooool!"
Ja, genau, es W A R cool.
Ich hatte mal "UFO-Enemy Unknown", den Opa meines absoluten Lieblingsspiels XCOM, neu installiert.
Aber sorry, nein, danke, geht gar nicht.
Und ich hab das damals gespielt bis der Notarzt kam!
OK. Pirates auf dem PC hab ich nicht mehr gespielt. Trotz besserer Grafik und so, reichte es nie an das Pirates auf dem C64 heran, bei dem ich höchstpersönlich soweit es ging die englischen Texte ins Deutsche übertragen habe.
*DAS* war genial. Ein weitgehend deutsches Pirates. Klasse!
Aber SPIELEN würde ich das heute nicht mehr.
Oder VERMEER. Mann, hab ich das mit einem Freund nächtelang durchgezockt, weil man das nicht speichern konnte. Das war damals schon grafisch sehr simpel. Und geht heute nicht mal ansatzweise.
Natürlich habe ich nahezu alle Mini-Auflagen der damaligen Konsolen, oft sogar die Originale fast direkt daneben. Und natürlich habe ich die alle in unserem Spielzimmer aufgestellt und sind alle spielbereit.
Aber gespielt haben wir quasi nie.
Ich spiel ab und an mal Space Pilot auf der Pandoras Box. Elisa hat Harvest Moon auf der Wii wieder entdeckt.
Aber regelmäßig den alten Kram spielen, wenn man auf den aktuellen Konsolen soviel hat, dass man spielen will und nur so wenig Zeit dafür?
Nö.

I do get to see the galaxy, from the observation deck, but the wonder wears off.

The bots are kind, but I’m not needed as crew. I’m cargo, a life sample, a bibelot and bargaining chip, in case we meet life and the AI space pilot needs to negotiate.
