while looking for some information on the #ay89xx series of #soundchips, I've stumbled across this informative website dedicated to the #MattelAquarius - I do not own such a machine but I love to read about all the details on this site nonetheless, very well done ...
Today my copy of "The Oxford Handbook of #VideoGame Music and Sound", edited by William Gibbons and Mark Grimshaw-Aargaard arrived.
I contributed a chapter about "Symbolic Music and Algorithmic Composing. Computer Archaeological Perspectives on #BASIC #Game Sounds"
Today I received a copy of the current issue of "#Musiktheorie" magazine. This one covers the main topic "Music and #VideoGames" and I contributed a chapter about #Sound programming for #BASIC #games (mostly using examples for #Atari's #8Bit computers):
For next weekend's lecture performance on #ComputerMusic & #SoundChips I will re-enact a #BASIC program for #TRS80 Model 1 Level II that produces sounds in a nearby radio receiver by just altering the electomagnetic pollution of the computer.
The program was published in: CLOAD, Best of 1978, pp. 31-34.
Here you can listen to a test I made in 2019:
Save the date: on Saturday, 26.06. "#SoundChips and #Chiptunes" will be the topic at the #ComputerMuseum in Oldenburg: I will give a talk about the technology, guide a tour to the exhibited #HomeComputers and #GameConsoles with sound chips and conduct a #HandsOn sound programming workshop with #BASIC. Afterwards DJ Thunder.Bird will give a #LecturePerformance on #SID #Tracker software with acutal #ChipTunes.
