I've long used the #solarized_dark dark theme for my editor. It's not perfect, but it's quite nice. I recently tried #Dracula which is pretty nice too.

I don't like dark themes for my whole desktop or individual applications, but for working on code or a command line, I find a nice monospaced font and dark theme is best.
