My mom doomed herself to a lifetime of knitted socks by once telling me that she liked them. The first few I made for her have got holes, so I did some repairs while I was visiting this summer. It's the biggest compliment to me as a sock knitter that she loved these enough to wear them right out! 💙 Thankfully she's got a few more to rotate through now than she did in those early days, but I'm always glad to do some mending. Some of these holes were too big for my mending tool so I picked up the larger version for next summer!

This is one of the yarns I dyed at craftemporiumpdx in the spring! It's DK weight so likely won't fit in my shoes, but I wanted some socks for when my feet get cold while at the computer and I think these will do!

Also, yes, Hatch decided it was cuddle time because the air conditioning was blowing too close to his bed. Did you know dog feet can smell like corn chips?

Went out to Knitted Wit/Craft Emporium today and then we stopped by a beach for a picnic and some sand time before heading home. I brought my #SocksOnVacay for photo op and dug a bunch of holes with my kid. 🏖️

Mom socks + tea. Yes, I'm very late in sending all the birthday packages this year. 🎂

I added some of my new favourite tea to Mom's package. Imagine if you turned Constant Comment up to 11 and that's basically this tea. Mom and I used to drink constant comment while watching Rita McNeil and some cbc medical drama when I was done my homework in high school, so I was pretty sure she'd enjoy this one too.

The folks at Knitted Wit have these cute summer bingo cards and mine became a tiny stamping art project.

If I finish this sock tomorrow I get to tick off three more squares (languishing WIP, vanilla sock, top down sock), but I'm definitely not getting a sunburn. I'd make a crack about the sunburn square being unintended racism (genetics play a large part on my not getting sunburnt) but honestly I'm glad for a square I can't fill out because then I'm not tempted to also try to finish the cowl I started tonight. 😅

Mom bday sock one is off the needles, rainbow weaving is off the loom! So of course I spent way too much time last night planning new projects even though I still have a second sock to finish. 😅

Yarn: knittedwit sock in Charm Quark and Peanut Brittle

Weaving: My kid wanted to use every colour of Caron acrylic I keep around for amigurumi in a weaving. This is what we compromised on. It's a disaster in spots but good enough for playing with even if it doesn't actually lie flat.
