In all my years installing ESXi, I never encountered this particular issue… A Skull Canyon NUC with 32GB of RAM ran out of resources will simply loading the ESXi installer…. wtf right?

Turns out, it’s a combination of issues between latest ESXi requiring UEFI/Secure Boot and also a limitation on just the Skull Canyons requiring temporarily disabling the onboard Thunderbolt device… who knew?

This blog saved my ass tonight. Sharing in case anyone else encounters this. #ESXi #NUC #skullcanyon
