@thetyee That guy and his betrayal on #SiteC and his embrace of coal speak volumes.

@Sanderde
No, actually. But that seems totally on-point. Same with hydro here in B.C., ratepayers subsidize industry. #SiteC

@dyckron

This project should never have moved forward once the BCNDP came into power. A great read, thanks Laila Yuile.

When Government Gaslighting Becomes Policy: The Cost of Official Denial revealed in new ‘Site C Lessons Learned’ report.

Independent observers documented risks years ago, yet public messaging cast doubt on reality itself — until evidence could no longer be ignored.

WorkSafeBC investigated suspicions that workers at the #SiteC dam were discouraged from reporting injuries, but in May cleared the project. Andrew MacLeod reports. #bcpoli

How BC Megaprojects Were Cleared of Suppressing Injured Workers’ Claims | The Tyee

Site C, LNG Canada and pipelines were probed for failing to report job-related medical incidents. A Tyee exclusive.

"Carney was the United Nations Special Envoy on Climate Action and Finance and was behind the UN-backed Net-Zero Banking Alliance, so some Canadians might have assumed he’d prioritize climate action if he won the election.

"Instead, Carney has described developing fossil fuel infrastructure as 'pragmatic.'"

2017: the #bcndp talked about viable green energy, then pushed #sitec, #fracking, #lng

Did #BC just flood the #PeaceValley to use #SiteC Dam power for LNG and an Bell/Grok AI data cluster?

Is this the start of US corporations drinking our water for memes of Will Smith eating spaghetti?

This is disturbing behaviour from our province. #BCNDP have clearly forgotten that they are on a razor’s edge and can be voted out easily.

Eby continues to embrace #LNG extraction in the wake of #TMX, #SiteC, #FairyCreek and now Elon’s #AI Data Centers will be drinking our water?

This #BCNDP is clearly no better than destructive #Conservatives, if they continue down this path they’ve lost my vote.

Trump is not an excuse to openly rape our Province for profit, #Eby is completely out of line and no different than #Horgan.

@Greengordon@spore.social Putin didn't take all of Ukraine, just a tasty easy morsel. Each time.

#BigHands takes BC, he gets all Canada's Pacific ports, 12 Columbia dams and millions of trees, oil, gas, coal, and the switch to the #SiteC

This major leak is at the #SiteC dam, even if video is unlabelled. It shows leaks in a penstock (intake pipe) that brings water down from the reservoir & into the concrete powerhouse to feed a turbine. The concrete at bottom left is the "buttress" or large concrete structure that houses the turbines and powerhouse.

Recall: the buttress was sliding 1mm per day back in 2021 & had to be shored up $$$$. If this leak is caused by the buttress still settling, that extra $8 bn didn't work.

Who stands to gain from the massive Site C dam?
After nearly a decade of construction, the massive Site C dam is finally generating electricity. But the debate about the megaproject is far from over. While it’s meant to power thousands of homes and electric cars, what is the real cost and who stands to gain? Camille Vernet reports.
