Mit „Jackie Brown“ lieferte Quentin Tarantino 1997 einen Film ab, der in seiner Filmografie inzwischen wirkt wie ein zurückgehaltenes, geheimes Juwel. Nach dem riesigen Erfolg von „Pulp Fiction“ (1994) entschied er sich bewusst dafür, keinen weiteren selbstgeschriebenen Pulp-Thriller zu drehen, sondern Elmore Leonards Roman „Rum Punch“ zu adaptieren. Das Ergebnis ist ein faszinierendes, fast elegisches Stück Kino, das tief in die amerikanische Popkultur der 1970er eintaucht – und zugleich ein persönliches Statement. (ARTE)

1973's Wonder Women is high up on my list of awesome 70s exploitation sleaze. It also has some really recognizable faces in it including exploitation superstar Ross Hagen and one of the most significant Asian women in Hollywood in the 60s, Nancy Kwan.

1973's Beyond Atlantis by director Eddie Romero is technically a family film. No, for real, Patrick Wayne (John Wayne's son) insisted this film be a family film. It's one of the very few movies out of the Philippines in that era that was family-friendly - which is a direct quote from David DeCoteau, someone who knows both sleaze and family movies.
