SINOPSE:
Na fatídica noite de Halloween, um grupo de estudantes universitários — Emmett, Freddy, Marie e Kevin — decide desafiar o bom senso e as lendas urbanas locais para fazer um teste de coragem dentro do antigo e decrépito hospital psiquiátrico de Santa Mira, uma gigantesca instalação abandonada desde que um incêndio mortal ceifou a vida de dezenas de pacientes e funcionários décadas atrás. O que começou como uma típica brincadeira inconsequente de feriado transforma-se em um labirinto infernal de puro desespero quando eles sobem até o misterioso e isolado terceiro andar do prédio. Aprisionados por uma força invisível, os jovens descobrem que os rumores de assombração eram terrivelmente reais e passam a ser caçados por espíritos vingativos e entidades amaldiçoadas que habitam as ruínas, iniciando uma luta sangrenta onde escapar com vida do edifício parece impossível.
