After running home to get my personal laptop and spending 30+mins with the helpdesk, we learned:
1. my LAN password expired (I’d gotten no notifications)
2. it shows up when an external monitor is plugged in

I was reading an article and then this full screen popup stopped me. I can see no way of dismissing it whatsoever.
Might have to just skip past it entirely in search results now.
Harry SintonenOne of the gripes I have with #macOS is that it allows hiding the filename extension per object basis. You thus can end up with folder showing file names with and without the extension, making it highly confusing to the less advanced user. I’m not sure who at #Apple thought that it was a good idea to have this as default.
Apparently this did piss off enough people since Finder has option to fix this nonsense: You can make Finder to always show file system extensions, regardless of the attributes of the individual files. You can find this sanity option in Finder: Settings > Advanced > Show all filename extensions. #uxdesign #shittyux

Matt BruntI was just in the middle of typing something and #Windows11 popped up a box about restarting for updates that stole focus. I was typing and pressing space clicked the button to restart so now I’m sat waiting for it to finish as it interrupted what I’m doing
