Another fun detail on these 1920s-style "Blue Buckles" is that the paper label is attached with one of the suspender buttons. When the label is removed, some paper will remain around the foot of the button.

Two pairs of 1938 "Blue Buckles" waist overalls I made a couple of years ago.
Besides the vintage blue buckles, the distinguishing feature is the "X" bartacks on the inner corners of the back pockets to prevent scratching the furniture. The outer corners are riveted for added strength.

This is why I often make two identical pairs at once. I like to wear one pair and keep the other as a kind of self-made deadstock. It's fun to compare the two pairs and observe the changes over time.
I think of washing and wearing as an extension of the production of the jeans, and just like I aim to make the construction and materials period-correct, I try to make the washing and drying method as period-correct as possible as well. For this pair, that means frequent washing and lots of tumble drying!
