Viscose blouse.

Made inspired by a RTW blouse from a brand I like, it came out very close to the inspo's shape!

Pattern for the main body is Helsinki by Les Lubies de Cadia, butterfly sleeves taken from a pattern by Finnish indie brand Jujuna. (I got them with a sewing magazine subscription that shared the pattern, SK 5/24)
Main fabric is second hand, collar facing bought new. Both viscose.

I made a tote bag out of a used pillow case and tulle, both were left at the for grabs -section at work.

It was a fun in-between project!

Wearing second hand altered tops today!

The blouse was originally a short dress/long top that I chopped up a little. The vest is vintage and it originally had a loop button closure lover down. I unpicked the leather triangles, moved them up and knitted i-cord ties to match. (Excited to learn a new technique!)

I love this combination, hopefully soon I'll have me-made trousers to pair with them!

ZW Gather Dress by Birgitta Helmersson.

For something so simple I sure did take my time with it! I think I finished sewing at the end of last year (it's already on the 2024 makes post...) but did not make the buttonholes or add the buttons until the last few weeks.

Made from a thrifted duvet cover and is more of a wearable toile. For the next one I want to get a narrower width, longer top and not so low cut neckline.

The making itself was fairly painless, especially since I used Birgitta's tutorials on her blog to sew some of the trickier bits. Opted out of using the offcuts for reinforcement as that felt like unnecessary waff. I've already plans to make a blouse version of this too!

Feeling brave today and wearing this to work to see how it works in the day-to-day.

Summer accessories from June 2024!

The bag is made with the same Fibre Mood Etta pattern I shared in a previous post, with some modification (I changed the strap into a more adjustable one) and the hat was altered from a Suuri käsityö pattern (I made the headpiece larger and the brim smaller).

Fabric is from Kässäkirppu and the strap and the zipper of the bag are from Nextiili. So entirely second hand! I'll make a better suited set for myself next summer, since the colours of these didn't really look good on me. Luckily my sister said she'd wear them. 😊

Things I've made in the past!

This one is the Etta bum bag from Fibre Mood that I've made twice so far. Both are made from recycled fabric (potentially entirely? I cannae remember). The patterned one I had just enough of to use on the visible parts, the back is just plain brown. This was the first one I made and I messed something up because the zipper came loose on one end, but the second one is in constant use to this day! I'm planning to make more of these, maybe add a lining and some embroidery as a decoration. :)

Skirt: on.

Really unhappy with the fit, somehow it ended up too loose around the waist despite how much I thought I tightened the elastic!

I think I will buy more of the same material (spied an unused pair on Vinted 👀) and redo the dang thing, this time with an actual pattern and belt loops!

On my way to the first craft club meeting, I am nervous!!! 😱
