I believe the link between poverty and TB was made a long time ago. What wasn’t clear is the link between neo-liberal economics (feed the oligarchs, let the benefits “trickle down”) and poverty. Now we know. But we still vote for those who curry favour with the oligarchy ?

Putinism the contemporary Russian fascist variant. Trumpism the American variant. Poilievrism, Canada’s variant. The “free” market leads to social disruption, fertile ground for fascism with its all/nothing us/them “solutions.”
