It's almost done!!
The battery on my dremel-like tool died so I can't finish smoothing out the edges, but I did a test fit on the broken controller I bought to use for parts and I love it! It's such a small thing, but when I put this on my main controller and replace the neck, the main controller is going to look like a plastic replica of my main guitar. Even seeing this parts-controller has me grinning ear to ear!

Life took some turns so progress has been slow while life events took priority, but I'm finally back at this project! So far I've verified my dremel-like tool can cut through the pickguard material, but it's kind of slow. To make things easier on myself, I got out my cordless drill and used its largest bit to drill a bunch of holes along the pickguard's outline. This is going to be so cool when it's done!

Fixed automounting a network share (via SMB) on my Bazzite install by noticing I was using a mix of capital and lowercase letters for the same folder, once I made it all the same it's working! And hey, YARG has zero issues running with a song library hosted off of my NAS!

Next up is importing songs from the RB3DX setup I had on my 360, but it's almost 6 AM and I should probably get some sleep at some point...

Okay! all Guitar Hero & Rock Band songs in Clone Hero's format (can be read by YARG too) are all set up! Now I'm transferring them from my office PC to my server, then on the gaming PC I'll point the game to this same network share. I still need to add customs, but one step at a time...

I've been getting back in to Rock Band and Guitar Hero for awhile, and recently I ordered some broken guitar controllers for parts for a cheesy but awesome project I want to do. Today the controllers arrived, I saw them sitting next to the porch when I stepped out for a moment. Tonight or tomorrow I'm going to begin project: make my plastic instruments look like my real ones!

Whether I get this working and move the HTPC to the basement or not, I did have a thought: I should make a folder on my NAS for my YARG song collection, then point the game to that share. That way I can add to it from another PC instead of having to use a mouse and keyboard on my living room floor.

I'm taking a break to calm down right now, but this might be a good idea in the future..

Had a weird audio issue with YARG on Bazzite, one where the sound would randomly cut out for a second every few minutes, but it's fixed!!

From searching, the first step was to increase audio buffer in-game. I played with this and it helped a little, but in the end I left it at 300. [1/2]

A while ago, Groove Coaster 2, a really cool rhythm game for Android, was killed by its publisher at Taito. It's a shame, but thanks to a community server, online resources and my personal findings, I could make a version which is playable offline even now! 

It's an app that will download and unlock all the songs so you can play the app fully offline! No need for a server!
