The bootc talks at KubeCon's Project Pavilion continue to bring in the numbers!

This is the tech behind #bazzite - I believe it now more than ever, we give the next generation of #linux contributors the best tech, and they will build something awesome.

Windows ain't it. Some alternatives for ya

I only use #Windows to game. In particular Battlefield 6 but as much as I enjoy the game I am starting to feel like being on Windows even for a short time and even just for a game, is not worth it.

I can play a ton of games on #Linux even if not that one.

I might just format and install #Bazzite

Switched from #Fedora #Kinoite to #Bazzite on my main PC today. The process was quick, simple, and (mostly) painless. Score one more for Fedora Atomic desktops. I even had the option of keeping my kinoite install to boot in case there were problems with bazzite.

The one problem I did have was that bazzite doesn’t have toolbox, so vscode wouldn’t start my toolbox container which has all of the various tools I’ve needed for different projects. I used a distrobox container instead, and will just have to re-install various tools as I go.

Ended up taking my old PC and refactoring it to a "#Steam Machine" to try and save some money if the official Steam Machine is super high priced (which it will be).

Ended up going with
#Bazzite because that is what a lot of wannabe normies talk about when they joke about installing a #Linux based OS for gaming. So after about 5 minutes of research I decided the -deck variant was the way to go since all I wanted was a Steam Deck experience permanently hooked up to my living room TV.

After the install to my surprises I got exactly what I wanted. Went right into Steam Big Picture and was able to set everything up via controller and everything just kind of works.

Even the
#KDE Plasma "Desktop Mode" is exactly what you would want as it is set up 98% the same as the Steam Decks. The Bazzite control app or whatever it is called is pretty great because it gives you one click options for doing any extras you would want such as enabling SSH. installing Decky Loader, auto-mounting ext4 drives on boot, and a lot more. It has only been 24 hours with the system but it is pretty much what I would want as "Steam Machine".

The case is a bit bigger than I want but there is not much options in HTPC cases that support the size of the extra video card I was using.
I think I shared this in the past, but still quite a fun project to follow.
Recent builds seem to liquid cool the BC-250 #Bazzite board.

I just created the Bazzite Box (Low Cost Steam Machine)

If anyone feels like doing a project over the festive break, I created a low cost gaming console based on the PS5 APU: Some New Photos: Customary Banana Shot For Sizing: PS5 Comparison Photos:

#Ring #doorbell has been replaced by a local-only alternative for less than the cost of my annual Ring Subscription.

And #windows NTFS partitions have been mounted by #Bazzite allowing me to recover the dregs of the data I forgot when I buggered up the attempt at dual boot.

The #deshitification has been good this weekend!

the correct way of updating Bazzite? - Lemmy.World

Hi guys, As the title pretty much says, what is the correct way to keep your bazzite pc up to date with both software and hardware drivers? Do you just use the “updater” on their “marketplace” platform? Or is there a terminal code I should know of? (For instance, like OpenSUSE has the sudo zypper dup command)

So I installed #Bazzite on my son’s gaming PC last night and then went to bed! 😈
