Does anyone ever think about how when the #AIBubble inevitably pops and a lot of these scummy #AI companies go under, how probably the majority, if not all those predatory chatbot sites will shut down and how bad the fallout will be for people dependent on them? Like, think back to when #ChatGPT 5 came out and how it dumbed the #LLM down and how upset people were, or when the company that owns #Replika lowkey lobotomized the bot and put the more realistic features and patterns behind paywalls and how people revolted.

But what would happen if they were shutdown entirely? These chatbots are specifically designed to prey on vulnerable people and get those people hopelessly dependent on the bots. What will happen when the one emotional support someone has gets taken away for good for millions of people? I shudder to think about it, and it's just yet another reason to add to the laundry list on why #GenerativeAI is harmful.
