We lied to ourselves a year ago when over 80% surveyed said we'd support a Voice To Parliament.
When it came to putting pen to paper, we ended up being too easily convinced we don't, because we may lose our land/money/jobs/advantage/privilege.
Australia needed this National Referendum to hold a mirror up and show us how much of an institutionally racist a society we actually are.

Note: I'm not calling us racist. I'm just saying our society has been swayed by fears born out of racism, and promoted by those with either a racist agenda, or a push for power.
Now we can face reality and make a change if we want.

I've always said it was good Pauline Hanson came on the scene.
She also held up a mirror to society.
Some who thought they were not racist saw that they shared some attitudes with her.
That gave them an opportunity to make a decision to change.

In New York, crowds gathered earlier this morning to walk over the Brooklyn Bridge in support of the Voice to Parliament.
Organiser Karri Walker said it meant a lot to her as an Aboriginal woman living in Boston, to see people turn up for the march.
"I hope we send a message to the rest of Australia that Australians are really supportive of the Voice, that this matters and that this is a really historic moment that people really care about," she said.
"Even though we're on the other side of the world, we're still Australians. We still care about what happens there, especially to our Indigenous people," Emma Barnes said.
"We've always had a voice and we've always been using it but now it's time that the Australian parliament listens to us," said Mi-kaisha Masella while crossing the bridge.
