I broke in my new Pop!_OS install by using it to flash #LineageOS on my #RazerEdge!

I ran into some hurdles along the way, seemingly because the USB-C port on my Edge is faulty, but I persevered!

I really need to stop messing with my devices and work on my large list of home improvement projects, and I think I’m just about ready to do that.

I would like to get #Bazzite on my SFF HP ProDesk at some point since it’s in the living room and it has a GTX 1650, which I recently learned can utilize Steam Gaming Mode unlike my GTX 1080. However, I need to make sure it can run Minecraft mods for my kids.

I do think I can hold off on that until Windows 10 support is officially over.

Still thinking about getting a new gaming handheld. I’m currently reevaluating my #RazerEdge. The biggest problem I have with it is the defective USB-C port.

I was playing Fire Emblem Engage on it the other day and it would randomly decide there is liquid or debris in the port and disable the controller. I then had to unplug it and replug it a couple times to get it to work again.

Despite that, I'm now setting up #EmulationStation on it for the first time. Trying to make it seem less like an Android device.

I took some pictures of my #RazerEdge with the Razer Kishi Ultra telescopic controller it came with before it runs out of battery and I can no longer turn it back on…

I’m so frustrated with my #RazerEdge.
Stutter again returned to the Persona dancing games. It could be the fault of the #Vita3K emulator but I’m also having other problems.

The PS1 version of Final Fantasy VIII runs better on my older phone for some reason. I get random slowdowns very often when playing it on the Edge with the exact same settings.

A very similar thing happens when emulating the PS2 game Digital Devil Saga. It gets slowdowns very often whereas my Galaxy S10 5G can run it without slowdown, albeit at a near native resolution. The Edge can handle a higher upscale but the slowdowns are there regardless.

I do love the higher refresh display and the slightly newer version of Android on the Razer Edge, though.

After doing some side-by-side comparisons between my new #RazerEdge and my old Galaxy S10 5G, it’s become clear to me the Edge is significantly better than the S10.

The display area for 16:9 and 4:3 content is slightly smaller on the Edge but it’s a brighter panel with a much higher refresh rate and it’s not curved.

I also think the speakers are better on the Edge, and while it’s not as powerful as I was hoping, it can run Twisted Metal Black upscaled x1.75 at a very smooth 60 FPS, which the S10 definitely could not do!

Feeling disappointed with my #RazerEdge at the moment. It’s not as much of an improvement over my old Galaxy S10 5G as I expected. I can’t get the Persona dancing games to run well, Tokyo Mirage Sessions isn’t great; even The Last Story on Wii has a lot of slowdown at just 720p.
I assume the PS2 games that were a bit slow on my S10 will be better but I haven’t tried yet. I still need to try P5X too…

I’ve also been trying out the Japanese WiiU version of #TokyoMirageSessionsFE on my #RazerEdge via #Cemu.

When displaying just the main screen it can’t maintain 30 FPS (outside of the pre-rendered cutscenes), but if I have the main screen and the WiiU gamepad side-by-side it is so smooth! (albeit quite small)

My #RazerEdge has arrived!!
I got a new 256GB microSD card and filled it with a bunch of roms from my collection and some new ones I acquired from NoPayStation and WiiUDownloader, which I just learned about.
I’m only getting higher-end emulators on here for now. Mainly focusing on PS Vita. The first game I tried out was #Persona4 #DancingAllNight. At first it didn’t play any better than it did on my Galaxy S10 5G but after getting a Turnip driver it seems to be running almost perfectly now! Good thing too since it was my main motivation for buying this device.

I bought a #RazerEdge!

Swooped in on an #eBay auction right before it ended and got a used one in “great condition” for $165 USD (including tax and shipping) and it also comes with a #RazerKishi Ultra controller! (along with the Kishi V2 that it ships with)

I had the Kishi Ultra for a couple weeks in October but decided to send it back since the ultra clicky d-pad was a little too loud for me. I then got the #Abxylute S9, which I’ve been happily using with my phone since then.

I would’ve bought the Razer Edge tablet without any controller (it’s a very Switch-like device) but I’m excited to have the Kishi Ultra back. And, it also comes with a carrying case that fits the Edge and the smaller Kishi V2 controller.

So much versatility!

I’m very close to buying a #RazerEdge (again). I placed an order for one on eBay in October but ended up canceling it because “I’d rather have a #RetroidPocketMini”.
(I just went through my old posts for a refresher on why I cancelled it)

If you’ve been paying attention to my recent posts, you’d know I just placed an order for a Retroid Pocket Mini and then cancelled it because “the squareish screen would make widescreen games very small”.

Anyway, #Razer is currently selling the Edge refurbished for 200 USD and I’d much rather buy it from them than a random eBay seller.

That said, I’d have to pay shipping if I wanted to return it so I actually have to plan on keeping it. 😬
