｢ An announcement made by the team developing the open-source app say they recently discovered the Linux AppImage and ZIP of the Cemu 2.6 release available from their Github had been “compromised” with malware between 6 May and 12 May, 2026.

The Cemu Flatpak, as well as installers for other operating systems, were not affected. ｣

News / Other: Builds of Cemu emulator have been compromised

Hi, I'm posting this from this account just to inform everyone but #Linux AppImage builds of #Cemu emulator 2.6 were compromised and replaced with malicious malware from the 6th to 12th of May. We're boosting this over here given Cemu is a Wii U emulator and I have to imagine a few of you use it to play Splatoon 1. Full details are available below.
