For one brief, glorious tax season, Americans experienced a fraction of what civilized countries' citizens do for taxes. Then the Republican Party went "oh god, we can't let GOOD things happen! Kill it! Kill it!!"
Man, the Wikipedia page for IRS Direct File is kinda depressing.
