@jack_daniel everybody is a sales weasel, everybody is pushing something and in this day and age you have to sell yourself to some extent even if you just focus on arcane b sides presentations; moreover some sales people can really help sectors like small biz since they have severe knowledge deficits with regards to IT even though a big part of their biz is built on it - the domains are vast and deep so it is a challenge even for savvy sales to have a product line that really stands out but there are always outliers and people who rise above sales weasel stereotype, damn few, but they do exist. I think some of the subterfuge and static is brought to us from the current political milieu and paradigm where it is seen as ok to just be a jerk and look out for yourself solely so i support your declaration although i think it is important to have some caveats and to reserve judgement in some cases - make your sales people work and go the extra mile and you could be surprised at times, albeit rarely
