There are many rail related joys to be found inside the information centre, including a mini cinema decked out as an old carriage - massive credit to them for maintaining this history.
Drove from Dunedin to Wanaka via the "pig route" today for a change of scenery, and glad we did. I am utterly smitten by the former Ranfurly station, which is now an information centre.
The last trains ran here in 1990 before the line beyond Middlemarch was lifted, and converted to the now popular Central Otago Rail Trail.
