Just realised that ableism is entitling able-bodied to tell #pwDisability to not become "dependent" on their aids (wheelchair, walking sticks, visual aids, etc.), but the same able-bodied would not tell someone w/heart issues to not become "dependent" on their heart medication.
One of the most harmful ableist tropes is that everything is like a muscle and one needs to challenge the body to improve. This is not only wrong, but also dangerous. Aids help reduce harm and preserve function.
