viq@Gina if you're looking for examples, the #WeAreNotWaiting movement for Open Source management of #diabetes, with applications like #xDrip and #AndroidAPS, would get basically locked out of being able to do anything, because especially AndroidAPS **cannot** be distributed in any form other than source - everyone needs to compile it themselves.

Hi! I have a friend, who has diabetes type 1, and they heard about AndroidAPS, a closed-loop system (they have a compatible pump and CGM sensor) and would like to give it a try. I've looked through the documentation, and it's not as easy.
I'm not familiar with diabetes, and would like some feedback, if any of you use this solution, would you recommend it, how much time did you need to acclimate and setup your workflow first to make it work (I mean like configuring AAPS itself after installation, and the 11 Objectives featured in their documentation, not the building of the app etc.)
Also, do you selfhost the reporting server, and if so, would you recommend doing the same, or going with an aaS solution instead?

I can now say that both #xdrip and #AndroidAPS work perfectly well on #GrapheneOS, even with battery saver turned on.

My main phone, after system update from Android 13 to 15, decided to stop getting data from my #CGM. Well, I have an old (android 9 😬) phone in drawer, for now it will work for #xDrip, even though it's too old to install current #AndroidAPS on...
Well, guess what, even though both xDrip and the Bluetooth app (did you even know your system had one?) are excluded from battery optimization, it now also decided that I don't need data from the sensor 💀

#AndroidAPS #AAPS lass ich auf dem Handy aber installiert. Denn #OpenSource #Nightscout #WeAreNotWaiting ist mir prinzipiell lieber.
Die Werte vom Blutzuckersensor werden per Funk an das DBLG1 gesendet. Dort verarbeitet und dann die Insulinpumpe per Funk angesteuert.
Anyone tried using #xdrip and/or #AndroidAPS and/or official #Dexcom apps on #GrapheneOS and can comment whether they work or not?
