Not having handled many guns irl, I was surprised at how thick the average pistol grip is.
It makes sense, for comfort and to house the magazine, but there is no way I would have guessed.

I used an old 3330 phone shell as the base for the Type-1 phaser on top. Although I had to modify it quite a bit in the end anyway.

The various lights about the vehicle were made from clear plastic pieces and tinted with clear (or dilute) paint.
The rooftop light fixture involved ~19 pieces iirc.
The windows were painted using the "black gem" method, and I chose red to contrast with the blue and yellow.

The yellow heat shield / vent area is partially made from a pill bottle. It was conveniently sized and curved for the job.

The closed egg was made first and then I created a mould with Oyumaru and cast the open egg with epoxy putty (hollow), leaving off the top.
Then I only had to sculpt the open "mouth" and create the Facehugger.
I then added the "roots" last to both eggs.
