Imagine being paid really well for a job that may not even be year round, and expected to be celebrated by thousands every time you successfully do your job.

The song lyric ‘Nice work if you can get it’, comes to mind.

Aspects of Fundamental Rights and Competition Law in Sports: A Case Collection of the CJEU

Sport is more than physical activity — it is a cultural force and a legal phenomenon. This work explores the unique dual role of sport in the European Union: as a protected fundamental right in many member states, and as an economic activity subject to the rules of the internal market and competition law.Through a curated collection of landmark judgments by the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU), the author sheds light on how legal principles such as non-discrimination, freedom of movement for workers, and competition regulation apply within the world of professional sports — often challenging traditional structures and regulations of sporting bodies.A valuable resource for legal professionals, students, and anyone interested in the intersection of law, fundamental rights, and sport, this work offers both insight and inspiration for further research.

Why doesnt the MLB use a #salarycap like other #professionalsports leagues?

I think an even playing field would be better for the game. Am I wrong?
